It might make more sense if you start at the beginning ...
The past week I have been getting together all the information required for the dreaded “Forms”. Its pretty much the main reason why I have been absent from posting regularly. Evenings have been spent in a swirl of birth certificates… photographs.. e-mails… statutory declarations and all kinds of other documents. Its enough to make my head spin.. and it has on occasion.
But now… the package of forms for the I129-f application is winging its way to the USA. Its 80% complete… just needs My Boy to add a few bits and pieces (all of which he has to hand) and the application can be sent off to the Nebraska Service Centre. I actually feel a little sick sitting here at 3.30am typing this. Its finally happening… after so long.
The package looks impressive… all tabbed out with orange dividers and looking neat and tidy. I hope that its got everything that could possibly be needed… in the right order too. Like I said.. all My Boy has to do is add about 4 things.. and we’re away.
Until its actually sent to the Nebraska Service Centre I can’t start thinking about time frames and what not… but.. according to the USCIS website…. the NSC is processing applications that were receipted on May 4th so its going to be 3 months at least so I’ll definately not be there by Christmas… which I am surprisingly calm about.
And its not over yet… if the Application is approved at the NSC… it all gets sent off to the National Visa Centre… then it goes to the London Embassy.. then they send me a tonne more forms….
