It might make more sense if you start at the beginning ...

At 2pm this afternoon my brother started on what will be an exhausting 24 hours for him and his friends. According to the plan they should be almost at the summit of Ben Nevis as it takes 2 and a half hours to climb… I hope that his feet don’t ache for many many hours. At 1343 Metres or 4406 Feet above Sea Level, Ben Nevis is the Highest mountain in the United Kingdom and my brother… hopefully round about now.. is just getting to the top of it… It was looking like this at the moment they were meant to be at the summit….
If you are at all interested I will be keeping you updated as the day moves along….
So I got a call from Big Bro this evening to tell me that they were in the bus on the way to the next mountain. They were just driving in to Glencoe when he phoned me and he told me that the weather was beautiful.. the scenery magnificent and breathtaking. They were indeed at the summit of Ben Nevis when it was surrounded with cloud.. but he said it was suprisingly easy to navigate the walk and they were up and down in the alloted time with no difficulties. They had passed Glasgow at some point and seen a huge Chinook helicopter taking off with two small helicopters in attendance… obviously some big guy involved in the G8 summit making their journey home.
He told me he would try to call from Scafell Pike at some point. They are climbing that in the dark of night.
Got a call from Big Bro 2.55am to tell me that he was standing at the summit of Scafell Pike.. about to get his picture taken. He sounded so incredibly excited and proud… and I was moved to tears by his accomplishment. He said the weather was beauitful.. not at all cold and that they had not had any problems at all.
Bring on Snowdon sometime tomorrow!!!!!
The BBC webcam of Mount Snowdon is here… the weather looks beautiful right now…
