Now then… on to Live 8…. Where to start… I have no clue… it was all so great… lets take it bit by bit….

Macca and Bono..
Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band…
what an opener….

U2 were fabulous
but then
they’re U2

Coldplay….

words fail me…

when Richard Ashcroft walked on stage and they sang Bittersweet Symphony together I was moved to tears… its an incredible song that means so much to me.. too hear it sung by Ashcroft and Martin just brought me to tears…

REM…

I managed to miss this completely.. totally gutted by all accounts.. when I asked HB if she had seen REM she asked me.. “We saw some old dude with blue paint on his face” *mumbles* how can she call him “some old dude” *weeps

I missed a chunk of the gig from then until Snoop

Snoop certainly got the show going… and no doubt contributed to the 400 complaints about the mother loving language

Razorlight
I like Razorlight… I’m stunned that this band weren’t scared into silence by the enormity of what they were doing…

Madonna…

Madonna… Madonna… there is simply nothing that can be said about her performance that can be summed up in a few words… she was quite simply unbelievably great… apparently she had been rehearsing her socks off for days previous and it showed… her voice was amazing..

For some reason I managed to miss another huge chunk of the show until the Scissor Sisters

These guys came on stage and gave it there all…. they really got the crowd pumped up…

Velvet Revolver…
I don’t think the crowd really knew who they were or what they were about… the boys/aging rockers/nutcases played themselves into oblivion but the crowd just didn’t seem to get it…

Sting
He was what you would expect.. awesome…
I can’t see it any better than that….

Mariah Carey…

absolutely stunning performance but booed by a small portion of the crowd for daring to ask for some water and a mic stand… I dunno… she was great.. I just wish she hadn’t come across as a diva…

David Beckham

He came on stage to introduce Robbie Williams.. and he seemed to just stand there and soak up the atmosphere or an eternity before actually saying anything… I’m a huge fan of David Beckham… and he can do no wrong in my eyes…

Robbie Williams

by far the STANDOUT performance… he lifted the crowd to enormous heights… and then managed to keep them there… coming on stage and daring to cover “We will rock you” by Queen and following it with “Feel”.. and pretending to be upset that the crowd didn’t know all the words.. “Let Me Entertain You” was simply stunning and then when he said that there was only one more song he could sing.. it had to be Angels… and he didn’t really need to sing one word… the crowd carried the whole song for him…

The Who
were stunning but by now I was flagging…
Tia Maria and Coke and Chinese can do that to a girl…

Pink Floyd

yeah.. so the set was great… but come on.. do they have to make every bloody song 15 minutes long…

Then I fell asleep
